I SEE THE WORLD FOR ITS LIGHT AND COLOR.
My wife teases me that I am always looking through my lens – that when I have my camera I frequently have no idea where I'm walking, I'm just looking for the next image to capture. My journeys are a series of pictures.

I love what photography can communicate. The image speaks more than just of the parts within its composition. A story, an emotion, a thought... the meaning within the fleeting moments can be captured to live again.

I shoot commercial and fine art photography (which is a easy way to say that I shoot just about everything - architecture, food, people, weddings, places, animals... yes, even ninjas). Over the years I've had the pleasure of traveling to some fantastic locations to capture some amazing moments in time. Here are just a few of those memorable photos that I would love to share with you.

This butterfly was very patient as I unpacked my camera, moved in close and snapped one of my all time favorite nature photos.

The Cocoa Tree is a fantastic chocolate shop in Nashville's Germantown neighborhood. These shots were for their website (which I also did).

Camile Bride

This was one of my favorite wedding shoots ever. The bride, a photographer herself, brought me to Iowa to capture this wonderful day.

Desert Sunset

I saw this while driving back to my hotel during photo shoot in the Arizona prison system.

Beach Model

I shot this beautiful model on the beaches of St. Petersburg, FL.

Polly Want A Picture

These birds were more interested in eating the tree than any crackers I tried to use to bring them closer.

Flood Run

Urban children playing in an open fire hydrant always make for a great photo-op.

I found this view near a client's development on Center Hill Lake, TN

Under The Sea

20ft below the surface and cute as a button.

What can I say? It's corn. I just like the photo.

Future Home

This is my future home, designed by my client, Malakouti Architects. By future I mean one day I really, really want to build a house like this.

Old Timer

I found this truck abandoned in the desert. Many stories could be created from this image.

Happieness

Happiness is everywhere if you know where to look for it.

Mom and Son

I love shooting on Dale Hallow Lake in TN and KY.

Dexter

This horse behaved more like a dog than anything else. After a long day of photography he laid in the dirt and rolled over for a belly scratch.

Instrument

I believe this is a hammer dulcimer. Taken during a shoot for musician Ray Hughes.

In The OR

I was brought into the OR of several major medical centers to shoot IONM procedures. This shot was at a distance before overcoming my weak stomach.

20,000 Leagues

Beautiful things are in the deep. This jelly fish was about 6ft long.

Gulf Side

Add this to the list of places I've shot and now want to live.

Luna

Some people love their animals enough to have them photographed. I'll have to admit, this dog was rather adorable.

New Home

Yet another beautiful home from one of my architect clients. There was a Golden Retriever at this shoot that would take regular dives into the pool. I wanted to too.

Street Performers

They're everywhere and they're often fantastic subjects. I have more of these than I know what to do with.

Midnight Pier

This is one of my very first EOS photos. Others photos from this shoot revealed a lighting storm over the ocean and a group of skinny dippers I hadn't seen when taking the photo. It was very dark - these were at 30 sec exposure.

Dog or Ham

This pooch loved the camera. The owners were really happy with the shots.

Southern Fall

There are about two weeks on either side of summer when you can capture some amazing, colorful shots in the southeast. This fall day in Nashville was no exception.

Train Dancer

This dancer from Oklahoma City was a pleasure to shoot and this image was featured on the cover of a magazine.

Rustic

I love shooting rust and ruins. These were taken at a revolutionary war fort on the shores of Alabama.

Hidden Bride

This was my first wedding shoot - flown out to Mt. Shasta, CA for the wedding of Ben & Stephanie Van Hoesen.

The Violet Burning

The lighting really helps the band's name here. Shot during a live show in Nashville, TN.

Another Dog

While on location at a photo shoot someone's dog walked up to me. I took the shot and am glad I did.

Perspective

I enjoy shooting the vanishing point. These weren’t from gigs, just location scouting.

Marrige Stock

Yup, I shoot stock photography too. This was from a wedding I wasn't hired to shoot, but showed up with the camera anyway.

Zumi Sushi

Sushi is one of my favorite foods. It was like a dream come true to shoot for Zumi Sushi - they let me eat it all too!
