I’m Justin Harvey. Over the years I’ve collected a few adjectives: artist, ninja, actor, photographer, web guru, husband, christian, producer, entrepreneur, writer, apostle, choreographer, daddy. These identify me not just by the things I do, but the things I love. And, it seems that as the years go by, more items are added to this list (of course others have come off the list too).
After a short, but eventful run in front of the camera I spent several years as a line producer and actor in an internationally touring theater company. Armed with two decades of training in the martial arts I also worked as a fight-scene choreographer and stunt coordinator. Combined with my experience as a former comic book artist I brought the skills necessary to get a production from script to storyboard to debut.
In 2001 I opened a small web design company with my wife, Audra (an artist whose talent and skill mine can barely touch). Together we forged a wildly successful branding firm called abrasiveInk. Our team worked with all kinds of clients: musicians, photographers, painters, mom/ pop shops, startups, restaurants, ministries, non-profits, medium size companies, fortune 500 companies. As our company grew so did our vision. This ultimately led to the creation of our non-profit organization abrasiveMedia. In 2010, after a much consideration and prayer, we decided to close abrasiveInk’s operations and focus on this and other new endeavors.
It’s that choice that has ultimately brought you to this website. Today I work as a freelance photographer and web consultant (designer/developer) as my primary source of income while I serve on the board of directors for abrasiveMedia. As a follower of Yeshua (link coming soon) I’m also a full-time minister. Sometimes that takes place in the context of my church, The Anchor Fellowship. I also do some published writing on the side. And lastly, after a decade away from the entertainment industry, I’ve resolved myself to return to acting and stunt work. I have no ambitions to become a TV or film star – I just love the art and the process of making action packed entertainment.
I live in Nashville, TN with my ridiculously talented wife, our intellectually creative son, and a loving but neurotic dog that we affectionately refer to as the 65lbs torpedo.
