May 21st – the end of this sillyness

Surely by now you’ve heard of the May 21st “Jesus-is-coming-back” prediction by Harold Camping at WeCanKnow.com. I first got word of it about a year ago and thought it would fly under the radar of mainstream culture. But here we are, 4 days away from the supposed ”rapture of the saints” and its a hot (albeit humorous) topic for both christians and non. While it seems most of christian culture has learned from past bogus rapture predictions and rejected this prophecy, there are still some who have embraced it and eagerly await their one-way departure from Earth this Saturday. It’s these who have inspired a great cloud of humorist to examine and then poke fun at the May 21st-ers.

I give you these fine perspectives on this week’s end-times event. The American Jesus, Jason Boyett, and of course, Stephen Colbert.
